So....I am thinking about doing the Easy Street Mystery Quilt from Bonnie Hunter. I went to my stash and found that I have a TON of blues and some purples. However, I need to go to the store and buy the rest of the fabric that is asked for in the directions. I think I need to go a little lighter with my blues, also. What do you think?
VERY PRETTY.... If you have greens that might look good with them.
ReplyDeleteCheck out SANDY'S QUILTING FOR THE REST OF US ... COLOR TUESDAYS ....on her blog. She has good information about color theory and how to select color. I have been following and found the info helpful.
I am thinking of doing EASY STREET TOO but having trouble picking the fabrics. I have bolt of white for the back ground but not sure what color I should use for the constants... As for the three colors.... I am feeling blues and greens ... but not sure of the third.... I keep trying to decide... Maybe turquoise cause I think I have a bunch but I am not sure.
Nonnie....
Keep an eye on Twitter cause I bet we will be gathering there for sew ins... even if you do not get to participate at the same time we sew... reading the post can be fun too.... We are always off topic...
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/NONNIE_P here is my link... You can connect with a bunch of other quilters there... so much fun.

I really do need to get on that Twitter thing. Haven't signed up for it yet.
Deletedang... forgot to say... love your purple and blues ... look nicer than my blues...
ReplyDeleteThanks! I have just been buying these one at a time when I am shopping for fabric, and they end up being nearly all the same color. Heheheh.
DeleteGlad you're going to do Easy Street! Please join us on the flickr group and share your progress/ideas.
ReplyDeleteI like your fabrics.. I wouldn't be sure about the lightest blues in there, but you'll figure it out once the clues start coming out. I always change things up along the way. My plan is to make a little from each clue, then figure out what it will look like, before I decide how big to make it.
I have never done a mystery quilt before. I hope that I can keep up!
